Crown Media is well known for delivering high quality media simulation and training. An important factor in this is the skill and enthusiasm of the individuals and teams who work with us. We maintain a pool of experienced freelance journalists and technical staff and are always ready to welcome suitable people to replace members of our pool who are moving on to other challenges, or to expand our team.

Media simulation requires you to be able to balance professional journalism with an understanding of training and to some extent role play. Each year we undertake more than 100 exercises and events, varied in size and duration, in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. No two requirements are ever the same. Some of our jobs involve simulating embedded media during military exercises, others take place within a corporate environment. What we do is great fun, exciting and often in new and challenging environments.

Are you a Web Technician/Journalist?

Crown Media is currently looking to recruit a freelance print journalist with advanced content management web skills. Crown Media uses the web (both internet and client intranet) to support its media simulation. This can either be simply to distribute media materials and products on an exercise – or in order to create a virtual world, sometimes including social media.

As well as being a print journalist you would need to upload material via a content management system and be experienced at HTML coding (i.e. being able to set up a site from scratch or manage a site) either in basic and simple code on individual pages which link to each other, or with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Ideally you should also be able to create a CMS (Content Management System). This means being skilled in one of the systems around such as Joomla! and Drupal.
